At least, dump of your camera firmware is needed.
If you have card reader, you can make this dump using universal dumper (it works very fine on G7).

hi , i'm pretty new to this , so i have no idea on how to do this ...
basically the first  thing is to make my sd card bootable , right ?? then whats next ?
i've read some threads on making the card bootable , got me an hex editor , but i dont quite get it ...

edit:
ok i tried it like described here http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Bootable_SD_card ... to make the card bootable , then i put DISKBOOT.BIN on the card , locked it , the cam did nothing , no response... had to remove the battery afterwards..
what did i do wrong? whats next ?
any help appreciated

Some instructions:
* Download archive: http://www.zshare.net/download/70503522a2fae7/
* Make fresh card format (filesystem must be FAT12 or FAT16).
* Make card bootable using Wiki instructions (or bootable.exe program from archive for WinXP/Win2000).
* Copy to card file empty.dum from archive (8Mb of "0").
* Copy to card root folder diskboot.bin from folder "3" or "4" from archive.
* Lock the card, insert it in camera and switch camera on.
* After ~10 sec. disconnect the battery. Try this 2-3 times.
* If firmware is dumped, it must be inside empty.dum file. Compare it to original empty.dum or compress this file - if firmware is dumped, archive size must be ~1.5Mb (if not, less than 10 Kbytes). Uplload archive and post link in this topic
* Try diskboot.bin from other folders (in order 4,3,2,1). Do not delete or write empty.dum in process of dumping!

That's all. Good luck!

hi ,
first of all , thanks for your help , i hope i can get this done somehow :)
tried all steps , regardless which diskboot.bin file i use (4,3,2,1, tried several times) ,
the cam is not responding (at least it seems like)
the dummy file is still all zero , all 8mb
i might wanna try with windows and bootable.exe
(i tried with hexedit on linux,  Go to offset 0x40 (decimal 64) and type BOOTDISK in ASCII mode.)
is it normal that the cam is not responding ? it acts like its without battery ... nothing happens

Excuse me, this was dumper for A650 (with other firmware location). :(
Try dumper(s) from attachment.
In case of success, blue led is on when firmware writes (1-3 sec).
Firmware must located at ~0.5Mb from begin of empty.dum file. If not, read sectors from 1024 to 1024+8192 to file using disk editor.

Congratulations!
Now dump is in IDA... Now wait some days, I'll try to make CHDK for this G7 version.
