I borrowed recently from friends, a G9 and a SX20... they have terrible LCD screen, with too high contrast, oversaturated colors, peoples faces are looking terrible... it looks horrible for me...
WTF is this?
On low end cameras there is a pretty nice, natural colored screen.. on high end cameras why is this so strange?!?!?
On my A650 everything looks so natural, almostly like on the computer's screen, or like on paper...
i'm happy for choosing A650 instead of G9...
A720 there is a bit greenish display, but it's more natural than these
What's the point of this strange colors?
Any answer, or tip i would appreciate

Noticed in the manual that G7 has 'brightness boost' (hold down Display > 1 sec, do it again to go back)
No idea if this is saved, but you might want to test... also, since you borrowed the cams, maybe their
owner(s) have set brightness way (too) high ?

first of all i'm not a novice user, i have enough experience with electronics, programming, displays and so on...

it's strange that there is no mention in the camera reviews about the LCD screen color quality...
it's pretty important to have a reliable display...

these friends/users have bad shooting experience because of the unreliable LCD...
they are pretty novice users...
i would like to help them somehow, and maybe it can be useful for me too in the future

it would be nice to have a secret/service menu for changing screen parameters...

today, i will make a "side by side" shot to see the difference what i see...

i will try, but probably it boosts the backligth of the lcd... like the brigthness setting in the menu...
