I checked the source code, and your cam has "CAM_EXT_TV_RANGE = 1"
This means the times you mentioned should be possible (not sure, but i think max =  2048 sec = 34 min. + ?)
Be careful though, it seems sensors CAN be damaged by too much light

have fun,

wim

Thanks for the reply!

It's to take a long exposure shot of stars in completly dark night, just stars , no moon. That will keep the sensor safe right?

thanks!

Yes.
Note: enabled dark frame subtraction, the exposure time will be doubled, the camera shows "Busy" while taking the dark frame; see also CHDK firmware usage for more informations...

For stars, you must go somewhere where there is no light pollution, or use special filters that filter the streetlight lamps. Otherwise you are not going to get anything remotely useful.

I went to the link and found the thread on extra long exposures linked.  So it doesn't look like exposures longer than 64 seconds is very easy to do.  Could the tv_uni_e.lua script possibly be modified to allow it or its just not possible?

Edit: Guess not, changed the multiplier from 32 to 64 and it still took the picture after 64 seconds so I guess its something that needs to be decompiled and edited.
