Using an intervalometer and the time-lapse function on Ixus 80IS

I'm working on site later today and I was hoping to capture the full install of a roof we've designed using time lapse. This is likely to take about 2 days (0300 - 2000 working hours) so having a time lapse over that period would be perfect.

I have the AC adapter for my 80IS and that allows me to take blocks of 2 hrs time lapse using the inbuilt function in the movie mode which is great. I don't mind having to go back every now and again before the 2h is up to click it twice to start another file, but would the intervalometers work like that on movies? I've started one going now with this script:
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/UBASIC/Scripts:_Unlimited_Interval_Shooting
but it's started the script and the video is still on shot 1, and I guess I'll have to wait til the 2 hrs are up to see if it goes to shot 2, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to wait (I'm off in a bit)

Anyone else tried this?
