A570 - 8GB Card - Autoload

OK, I have an A570 and CHDK version a570-101a-0.9.9-869-full.
I bought an 8GB card tonight and it is formatted as one partition, FAT32.
Now, I see where autoload won't work on an SDHC card.
BUT, it seems that as long as the card is unlocked, CHDK works just fine except for the autoload.
Is that correct or am I just nuts?
If I am correct, it should work with a 16GB card as well, right?
Would like to capture RAW images during balloon flights.

Thanks much,
Greg

The manual loading method ("Firmware Update" from the Canon menu) is working with all SD card sizes supported by the camera; when 8GB SDHC cards are supported by the camera, 16GB SDHC cards should also work.

For autoloading CHDK on cards > 4GB the card need to be partitioned:

With a partitioned card CHDK starts from the first (small, FAT12 or FAT16 formatted) partition, then it swaps over to the second (big, FAT32 formatted) one.
Note: on a partitioned card, CHDK files like fonts, scripts... have to be stored on the 2nd (big) partition

Well, I'll be...
I think you have gotten me to where I want to be.  :D
Had to go back and forth and end up making the card bootable with cardtricks, but I think it's all good.
Thanks much.
Tell 'em I said you should get a raise.  :P
