I'm wondering if someone have script which can help me to capture lighting with my A560, and have a good will to share it with community? I already tried Lightning script -- Fudgey but they make my camera freeze as I reported on autors page.

MDFB works for me on a540 http://picasaweb.google.com/reyalp/LightningJan192010#5428625191904070178
Don't forget what the H stands for.

The script i had pointed to it also reported to work as well on A540, however there is no luck with my A560. Tomorrow I will test that  MDFB and see what will happen.

Don't get MDFB from the wiki (it appears to be an ancient version and anything cut&pasted is very prone to errors), get it from the zip archive on the forum thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,471.msg17797.html#msg17797 . Depending on script version you may need to make some choices: the a560 needs the digic 3 version and it does not have a movie/video button.

Also, try disabling the flashlight.

That version freeze to. I found some newer version (no digic 2 or 3 separate), that works, but it seems to be to slow for lighting capture...

Oops, looks like I linked to an obsolete version, did you try this one already:
http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,471.msg21328.html#msg21328 ?

That version fixed crashes on some cameras that need more delays.

Outstanding work! This seems to be the one. In testing conditions works just fine, now I need to wait until storm comes to test it with real lighting!

Question...what is the likely camera setting I should have prior to running the script (I have a G11)?  I mean, do I put the priority on Shutter or Aperture or Manual?  What about focus (on infinite)?

Also, is this script only for a single shot?

Seems that my camera stays in that preview mode...and isnt in motion detection anymore?  Do I just half press the shutter button again to get it ready for the next shot?

Whatever you want. The script doesn't change normal camera operation. In fast mode, it just presses half shutter, waits for motion on the live view image and then full presses the shutter and repeats until interrupted. Often you'll want to set manualf focus before starting the script.

No, sounds like something's wrong. Try searching around the G11 porthing thread for MD success reports and playing around with camera settings such as flashlight and any G11 specific oddities.
