What do we need to do to get everybody on the same page for the Canon G10?

There's a CHDK for the G11 already.

Let's do this for the G10!

I will do what I can to help.

There is one and only one thing you need: A developer who has
1) Access to the camera.
2) The required skill set (C, assembler). See http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers and http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Adding_support_for_a_new_camera for details.
3) Time (tens to hundreds of hours, depending on familiarity with CHDK, skill level, available tools and experience)
4) Motivation.

I guess it'll be hundreds to thousands of hours for me then!

I'm still trying to get through the CHDK for developers material.

Any Developers with motivation to port the firmware ?

Waiting for G10 port since very long ... really envy that G11 porting is already in Beta :P

Motivation generally consists of owning the camera and wanting CHDK on it, which solves both #1 and #4. If there was a developer matching this description, they would already be working on it. If there is not, then it doesn't matter how many other people want a port, what other cameras have been ported or how cool the camera is. None of these factors have any influence on the situation.

Any advice on Which Tool to disassemble the firmware is best?

IDA Pro, full version. You will want to read http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Loading_dump_to_IDA

If you don't have IDA, or don't have the full version, you will need http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/GPL_Tools instead
