Timelapse on the G11 - small timeperiods?

Hello,

I've tried two timelapse scripts on my G11 - lapse.lua and the UltaIntervalometer.

In both cases, even after selecting the time period between pictures to be 3/10th of a second, or 1 second etc, I only see pictures being taken every 3 odd seconds.

How do I fix this? Is it dependent on some camera mode? Some setting within CHDK?

Thank you

I'm afraid you're mistaken in thinking that the G11 (or indeed almost any point-and-shoot) can take photos that quickly. Make sure the camera is not set to review after each shot will reduce the time delay, as will using a faster SD card, but there is an irreducible minimum time that is more than 1 second.

Sounds like you need to ditch timelapse scripts and just set your camera into continuous shooting mode for eternity...You'll lose fine control over period, and there will probably be a lot of phase noise in the sampling period.

Maybe we should implement a built-in, script-actuated continuous mode timelapse feature that wastes some time in the RAW hook to set & stabilize the period (either to clock or to usb remote)...and add an optional script interface for histogram data (such as faster & less accurate version of the histogram dumper used by the sunset timelapse scripts) so that overrides could be used to adjust exposure during continuous shooting...
