RAW files - All .CRW files are 9MB???

RAW files - All .CRW files are 9MB???

I'm getting both RAW and jpg files, but the RAW files are all 9MB and can't be read by either FastStone or IrfanView.  I assume the RAW files are supposed to vary in size?

Camera is A570 IS
Firmware is 1.01a

OK, now I've actually confirmed that it happens with the latest builds from:
A570 Rossig Builds
SDM-CHKD (Stereo Maker)
Fingalo's Builds
Allbest's

I must be missing something...  ???

Does your camera have multiple sensors? Or it varies in resolution? ;)
Of course the size of RAW is constant, because the size depends on sensor resolution and it's uncompressed.

Try DNG4PS-2 converter to get the DNG file which is supported by the most RAW viewers and processors.

Ah.  Duh.  That explanation makes sense.

My Canon Powershot S60, when shooting in RAW mode, doesn't produce consistent sized files, but I suppose that doesn't really mean anything.

After running the files through DNG4PS, I seem to be able to edit the DNG files through FastStone.  The CRW and DNG files still don't work in irfanview, but at least I have SOMEthing that works.

Neither DNG4PS or DNG4PS-2 say they support the 570 though?
