Hi,

Using CHDK, can I disable the video/movie features and then use the video (red button) switch as a shortcut to start CHDK? (SX10is)

I hope this isn't a 'dumb' question ...

I meant to say
'as a shortcut to start CHDK saving in RAW'?

So basically you want to reconfigure the video button to act as RAW (or rather DNG) output enable/disable shortcut (which in CHDK by default is already something else that works while you are in ALT mode meaning it's basically a three-stroke shortcut now, see wiki)?

CHDK doesn't allow you to do that (nor does it allow you to reconfigure any existing shortcuts), but if you're up to it, I suppose this can be achieved by modifying CHDK source code in a suitable fashion and building a custom version.

apologies I didn't see that. I searched the wiki 76 pages for 'video', 'movie' but nothing showed up re the button. Thanks for pointing it out ...

I'll stay with swapping cards ....
