This may or may not be possible, I am not sure if it would be affected by hardware limitations, memory limits, or what have you. I just thought this might be the place to ask. Also, if it is possible, I don't know if it would be as a script, or an actual part of CHDK itself. I have looked at other camera manufacturers to see what other features might be a possibility for CHDK, and have found that Casio has a multi motion image mode. For example, you take a picture of someone on a ski hill( using this example because it's one of the pictures on their website), the camera takes multiple pictures, while the subject is moving, so the background stays the same, but the subject would be in consecutively different spots in the frame. The pictures are proocessed in camera, combined, and you get one picture with multiple stages of the subject's movements in one picture( I hope the explanation makes sense
I know that this can be done post processing, with the stitching software supplied by Canon, and probably other ways, as well, but I am wondering if there is any way to accomplish this on board the camera?
I realize the Casio cameras can take 30 or more shots per second, and that this is probably not possible on Canon cameras, because even though they both can have CMOS sensors, the processors are probably quite different. I have no idea what memory requirements would be involved, or how much is dependent on cpu speed or abilities. I do know that the SX1 can take 4 shots per second, and some Canon cameras can get 1.2(for example) shots per second. I assume it would have to be in continuous mode, and very likely with a smaller resolution image ( Casio is done on 3M images).
Again, I don't know if it could be done via script, incorporated right into the build, or if it would be possible at all.
