Hello everyone, great forum!  This is my second CHDK install, first time working on an unsupported version.

I am attempting to install this alpha CHDK onto my new camera, but haven't had much success as of late.  The disk boots and the software appears to work, but none of the scripts show up in their respective folders. All the files are on the SD card when I plug it into my MacBook, but they don't show up on the camera screen.  Can anyone give me advice?

Thanks and keep it going!

I installed on a 4g card using an Imac OSX 10.6.6 and it ran no problem. Still testing a lot of things. I did go through the steps to remove the flags. Just follow the instructions on the MAC Install page word for word and it will work.

Hello,
Very new to this and having some problems getting this to work on my SD1400IS (IXUS 130). I've downloaded the file "emlyn-chdk-1488cc2" and am using "SDMInst" to partition my SD card, but when I select the "emlyn-chdk-1488cc2" source folder to cody tot he book disk I get an error that says "No DISKBOOT.BIN File Found" and then the operation cancels.

I've also tried just partitioning the drive to make it bootable w/o copying any files int he process, then just attempting to drag the "emlyn-chdk-1488cc2" folder over to my SD Card, but it says there is not enough room on my bootable partition to copy the files over.

Feel like I'm missing something simple here. I'm usually fairly good at stuff like this, but feel like maybe I'm just not grasping something simple, as I'm literally 2 days new to CDHK stuff.

Thanks

@sevnthsin, it looks like you have downloaded the source code, not the binary. It should be called CHDK-ixus130_sd1400-100X-date.zip (where X is a or c depending on your firmware version, and date is the compilation date).

Hope that helps,
Emlyn

@emlyn - Thanks for the response. I actually got it running on my SD1400IS and its great. I DO, however, have another question. All I want to use is the intervalometer, and I've installed that and it works just fine, however, it appears the script is only writing to my smaller boot disk partition, and not the second partition with the significantly larger free space. How do I get the CHDK to write to that partition instead of the smaller boot partition?

Thanks.

@sevnthsin - I don't have any experience with multiple partitions, so far I've only loaded CHDK on a small SD card. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in...

Hello all,

Ive recently bought the IXUS 130 and downloaded the CHDK for it. I seem to have two problems that I didnt experience on my other IXUs 960 with CHDK.

The exposure bracketing doesnt work. (or at least i cant get it to work) When I do the same thing as on the 960, on the 130  I get pictures all with the same exposure. Focus bracketing does work, so it seems to have to do with setting the exposure. A script that sets focus works fine, a script setting exposure doesnt change anyting...

Also when running a script, whaen the script ends, the CHDK software seems to stop too..

Just thought i should mention it. If there anything else that needs testing I can do, let me know. Srry i cant help developing :-[

regards,
Erik

Hi lerik,

Thanks for the report, I've noted the issues in my github issue tracker. I haven't had much time to work on this recently, but hopefully that will improve soon...

I've also been testing the CHDK for my ixus 130 the last weeks and these are some problems/findings I've made:

-One way to get the exposure bracketing to work is to use a bracketing script which let you choose the number of shots while at the same time have bracketing in continous mode enabled.

-Optical zoom seems to work only for zooming in not out, it does however work with a zoomvideo script.
-AF in video mode doesn't work, while MF and AF does work with a script.
- MD is rather slow as you probably are aware of. Dataghost's motion detection speed test gives results from 170 to  340ms and above.

Have there been any progress on the MD? Would be great if it could be faster. I don't know much about programming so I can't contribute much other than testing. Thanks again for the great work being done to make chdk available for the ixus 130!
