SD780IS with 8GB SDHC card trouble

Hello,

I'm involved with a scientific research project and we urgently need to resolve this problem! We purchased a new SD780IS camera and an 8 GB SDHC card. I attempted partitioning the card (with the small part FAT 16 (~2MB), rest (~7.5GB) FAT 32). This seemed to be successful. Then, I used Cardtrick to make the card bootable and uploaded CHDK (correct version) to the card using the utility. I put the chip in the camera (locked) and CHDK briefly flashed on the screen before a "Memory Card Error" dominated. If I unlock the chip, the error goes away, but the card is "full." I assume this is because the camera is only seeing the 2MB partition. How can I fix this? I have also attempted using a 2GB card without a partition, to no avail. Any prompt advice would be extremely appreciated...

Update: I seem to have it working now, at least on the 2 GB card. I can't quite seem to find the feature in which I can take pictures at long intervals (5-10 seconds apart) for an unlimited amount of time (i.e. until card fills). This will have to be done remotely, that is, I need to be able to trigger the sequence once and then let it go for an hour or so on its own...

Thanks again!

Use an intervalometer script, e.g.
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/LUA#Minimalistic_Intervalometer    or
