Hi,  I apologize in advance for being a newbie.

I would like to get the SD1400 and use it for aerial photos from my R/C airplane, by simply mounting it to the belly and using an intervalometer function to get it to take a photo once every second, for about 5-10 minutes for each flight....

First of all, will CHDK work with this camera (can't seem to find any info on it), and second, if it will work, how hard is it to get a script written to do that, or is CHDK a system that will simply let me change the interval camera settings beyond the lame 10 photos it will do now?

Any help or info would be MUCH appreciated...  I'm a photographer that knows not too much about code....    :-X

Hello and welcome !

What you want to do is very simple with CHDK-supported cameras.

However, the SD1400 is not one of them  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers

You do not want to hear this,  but it is quicker and less frustrating to maybe sell your SD1400 and buy an alternative camera.

You can be shooting sequences as soon as you like !

Hello & welcome, AerialPhotos !

First of all, will CHDK work with this camera
No, CHDK is not available for the SD1400.

CHDK need to be ported to a new camera, this need's a developer with the camera, good knowledge in C and assembler programming, motivation and also a lot of time.

Scripting is one of the main features of CHDK, a simple intervalometer script can capture images in all intervals you want...

BTW - couln't you use the camera in continuous mode, with the shutter button held down, e.g. with a servo ?

to Microfunguy, I don't have the SD1400, but thought it would be a good one to use because of size, so I can pretty much get any camera to do this, so I guess I would need to know which cameras are still being sold that CHDK works with that are small?     To fe50, I only have a 4 channel radio, so there are no more servos to rig up with a shutter button, so that's why I want to get a camera that will do an intervalometer script...
