Anyone have any luck formatting, partitioning and making an Eye-Fi Pro 8GB card work with CHDK?
So far my experience is I can partition the card into two partitions, the Fat 16 part and the Fat 32 part. When CHDK Diskboot.bin and PS.FI2 are installed on the Fat16 part of the card, my camera, the S90 cannot read the card and reads "Card Error". I've tried 3 different approaches. One with CardTricks, the other with SDM Installer, the third with Acronis Disk Director.

Any suggestions? I can't even get far enough to determine if Eye-Fi can work off the second partition, the Fat32 part.
I'd like to at least get the camera to recognise the first partition, the Fat16 part. Any help would greatly be appriciated.

Right now the only way I can make the Eye-Fi card work is if I partition it with Acronis Disk Director to one 4GB Fat 16 and one 4GB Fat 32. I can get CHDK to run and boot on the Fat 16 partition but if I put the disk in the camera, run CHDK and swap to the Fat 32 partition once again I get the dreaded "Card Error".

I then put the card back in my PC and it wants to format the partition. If I don't format I have nothing but a unformatted card. If I format it, I lose everything because it is formatting the whole card back to at one partition with Fat 32.

For testing purposes, I'm going to pick me up an 8GB or 16GB non Eye-Fi card, Sandisk or Kingston, to see if I can get those cards formated and working in the S90. This should help me determine if the Eye-Fi card is causing the problems I'm experiencing. I have been going home every night and messing with the Eye-Fi card but still remain puzzled by it's non performance to format and work with two partitions.

If anyone is interested I figured out how to get the Eye-Fi card to work on an Ad-Hoc network.

FWIW, I'm not at all surprised eyefi gets confused by partitioned cards. It must have it's own OS that expects to read the filesystems, and it probably isn't expecting multiple partitions.

Hours into the experimentation, the new Sandisk card reliably formats a 2mb partition and another near 8gb partition. Works fine in the camera just as everyone else said it would.

The Eye-Fi card, well it can not be formatted into 2 partitions without receiving the disk error message. I tried everything. No luck. My choices are:

1. Format Fat32, load CHDK and manually boot CHDK

2. Format the card (using Acronis Disk Director) into a 4gb card with the remaining 4gb unallocated, format the 4gb patition to Fat16, then load CHDK (it will auto boot)

3. Return the card

The end of a long time of  better expectations.

Have you tried contacting the eye-fi developers ?

If your camera supports manual loading (with "firm update") then you should also be able to use the full card formatted with a single fat32 partition. You'll just have to manually load every time.
