What settings should I use for DNG4PS and SX20is?

Finally got CHDK working for my SX20, and am able to save as RAW CRW files, but I can't figure out how to use them on my PC (Photoshop ideally).

I downloaded DNG4PS in the hopes that I could convert to DNG which I could then open in Photoshop, but I see that I need to change the settings in DNG4PS so that it will recognize the files.

I found this information for how to set up DNG4PS to recognize RAW files from the SX200: http://snafs.com/tag/dng4ps/.

Quote
Camera Name: Canon PowerShot SX200 IS
Short Name: PowerShot SX200 IS
Sensor Size: 4080 x 3048
Jpeg Size: 4000 x 3000
Active zone x1, y1: 52, 14
Active zone x2, y2: 4052, 3014
Black-white levels: 127 - 4095
Mosaic type: Red, Green Green, Blue
Bits per unit: 12 bit

Will these same settings work for SX20?  If not, can someone help guide me through what the correct settings should be?

Thanks!

There's a parameter in RAW options in the OSD to save as .dng natively. This way you can avoid conversion from .crw to .dng. I had this same problem, my first set of .crw's were unusable. Now I save directly as .dng and they open fine in Lightroom / Photoshop.

Hello,

I wondered whether you now have the correct settings for DNG4PS.

I have not been able to open the 00.dng files in photoshop, but UFRAW is fine. I tried to have the files saved in the same dirctory as the jpgs so as to download them (and delete them afterwards), but this corrupted the numbering, setting it back to 0!. However, you can save the files in dng format, but with jpg as the file extension. In this way, CameraWindow finds and can download them-they just have to be renamed manually. How did you resolve this issue?

I tried the SX200 settings mentioned but I was unable to get the DNG4PS-2 to allow changes. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the DNG4PS-2 or whether it was something I wasn't doing correctly.

When I checked the DNG compatibility with various apps I found that I needed at least Photoshop CS3, ACDSee v3 or Picasa 3. I haven't checked all of the newest versions of the same apps, but I would expect later versions to also work. Hope this is helpful.

Processing of the CRW & CR2 formats usually require DCRAW or one of the many apps that have been built using DCRAW - there are more and more each day. As far as I know, none of them can convert the CRW & CR2 file formats to DNG so that they can be used in with Photoshop CS3, ACDSee v3, Picasa 3, etc.
