No. It's never possible to use the CHDK build for one camera model on a different model.

Currently there's not even a dump of the A490, so there's unlikely to be a version of CHDK for it any time soon.

This is one of the 2010 releases cameras. It looks like that all 2010 cameras are using a new encryption method for autoboot and firmware files. Currently no one (except canon) knows these new encryption method/keys, so it is currently not possible to execute homebrew code on this cameras and so no udumper or blink software for firmware dumping can be run on these cameras.

So dont expect that there will be (soon) a chdk port for this new camera.

Thank you for help, I need to use Stop-Motion function for A490 and keep the RAW file. I think i must wait to New Releases of CHDK next soon. :X

This is one of the 2010 releases cameras. It looks like that all 2010 cameras are using a new encryption method for autoboot and firmware files.
Can you please post list of cameras with new encryption method?
If this is true and they changed diskboot and fi2 encryption at the same time and there are no 'transition' camera with only one of them changed - this is really bad news.
It will be almost impossible to get those keys without leaks from service centers.
Even if they changed only encryption key (not method) for diskboot - it will be very hard to bruteforce it (8! of possible values = 40320).
Even not speaking about AES - this is not possible at all :(

There is one more possibility.
It looks like A/BootFAEXE.bin is not encrypted even on those cameras where diskboot.bin is.
So maybe this can be useful, but all this needs to be checked - maybe there are some pre requirement conditions to execute this file.
