His site appears to have been slashdotted.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

ha, just wanted to post the same story, after i found it mentioned in a german forum. http://video.web.de/watch/7424394 (german video).

in most of the articles there is NO word of chdk unfortunately (e.g. here they write that "a computer controls camera which takes pictures every 5 minutes, which is just wrong).

imo this COULD have put CHDK into the spotlight it so deserves, but somewhere somewhen someone failed :(

CHDK's page may be rather busy, but it beats the public face of many software products, by explaining in simple terms just what it is, right on the front page, and having labels that make sense to technical people at least subtitled for the non-initiates. ("IRC" / "Chat with other users," "Forum" / "Share results and ask questions.")

I think they chose not to mention CHDK because the concept of hacking a camera adds complexity to the news. Their point is that any folk can build a balloon and get NASA-like pictures, and the less chit-chat about technicalities the more impresive the news is.

Not that I'm happy with the lack of info about CHDK's role, I'm just trying to think like a reporter.
