the NY Times will have a pretty big feature about chdk this thursday (or so i am told). I guess this will create a buzz. We'll see ;)

I'm not sure the publicity is a good thing for us.  In other posts it's been pointed out that nobody has been able even to dump firmware on any of the new 2010 models.  You have to wonder if Canon has decided to shut us down.  I think that would be a short-sighted marketing decision, but they still might have come to that conclusion.  Well, maybe the NYT will interview someone from Canon, and we can get an idea of what they think of CHDK.  I gather there hasn't really been any contact with the developers before.

Anyway, I look forward to reading the article.

they interviewed us.
well, if canon really wanted to shut us down by encrypting whatever the new models, the more publicity will do no harm. if at all, it will perhaps draw more developers to the project who in turn figure out the new models protections. we'll see :)

I live in the middle of Iowa and they hired a freelancer to take MY picture holding my A570 while standing next to a cornfield!  They published one of my high altitude pix, too.

This was all a result of a few posts I've made here.
