Hello,

This CHDK is excellent.

Here's a time lapse I've done, looking down the street. Using an A720 taking a picture every 10 seconds, the images were encoded into divix format using mencoder, then it was slightly accelerated using adobe premier elements.

Cool time lapse.. Gets boring though after the first cycle if i'm honest.  What resolution did you do the shots at... If they are big, you can pan, zoom and cut to different shots (like the washing lines bottom left.. haha) to make the video most exciting!!  Do this in Premiere or after effects and it really gives a good effect that you used some sort of panning/zooming rig.  You could also display this as HD footage on a big plasma/LCD telly, very cool!!

Keep it to one or two day cycles only, stopped watching it after two.

A real great use of CHDK, your camera must have got bored of that shot!! haha!

Nice one,

Sorry for replying to a nearly two year old thread, but I find this really interesting.

Looks like one of the tower blocks has an insomniac on two of the nights.
One house does a lot of laundry.
Their next-door neighbor left their laundry out all night. :)

that was a long one. i wonder how many images you had to put together. my infrared time lapse needed 700+ images at 1-fps and that was a short one.

i liked the part when you see the moon rises. maybe you could have slowed it down a bit ( 1 fps of the moon shots ) so it's smoother.

maybe on your next project, take shots of the sunsets as well so you can watch both the sunrise and sunset. i'm not sure how you're gonna do that but that would be cool.

if i live in a tall tower and have a clear view both of the sunrises and sunsets then i'd probably try that...:)
CHDK rules !
