All of that is correct.

Format card with sdminst.exe, make bootable, copy only DISKBOOT.BIN to the card .......

I continually got an error about could not copy from source file ?
But it copied the DISKBOOT.BIN anyway ??
Loaded into camera - 1.84 crash !

What do you mean it would not allow you to copy but you did anyway ?

No one else in the entire World has a problem loading and running this file.

It is not your fault, I have absolutely no idea why it does not work, it defies explanation.

Maybe it has something to do with file permissions that prevent creation of a new folder.

It is getting late for you, I will see if I can compile a version that does not create folders.

What do you mean it would not allow you to copy but IT (the computer) did anyway ?
It came up with an error screen.
About could not copy from source file ?
That is copy DISKBOOT.BIN from the folder I have been keeping it in.
I have just done a re-boot of my machine so will try again.

It defies explanation why a dummy like me can get it wrong with SDM, but not when loading CHDK the same way. So I must be getting something right to get CHDK working. But can't get SDM working with the same instructions ???????
