Thanks Microfunguy
The numbers on the zener are 4732 & the catalouge has 4V7.
I have just put in a 1 kilo ohm resistor & got 5.6 volts at the cathode & the USB end.
Have we got it now :-)
Cheers

Well, it will work but the voltage is meant to stabilise at 4.7V.

Anyway, just try it, the camera draws negligible current.

OK I have tried to take some pics with no luck ??
I have set the menu to 'enable remote'.
I have a USB cable push button remote that works, but not the PIR cable remote ??
I am getting 5.6 volts at the USB plug & the correct polarity.
Any clues to what I need to do Please ?
Cheers

It will make it easier for me if we first get it working with SDM.

You can then revert to CHDK.

Rename your existing DISKBOOT.BIN and replace with version from here :

http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/download.htm

(you do not need Common_files.zip).

After booting, enter ALT mode.

Every time you press your switch, 'USB' should be displayed top left.

Is it ?

I am getting "Service Temporarily Unavailable" so maybe everyone else has seen this before me ?

For the CHDK forum or the SDM website ?

What is your camera and firmware version ?
