I will have to try to find an S5IS user to confirm this.

No-one has reported any problems.

Remove the batteries for a few seconds, make sure there is no CHDK.CFG and try again.

I will ask someone in the US if they still have an S5IS.

In the 'morning' I will check the code and if necessary upload a new build.

Good night.

Oh aren't you tired yet :-)
Just a question if I may.
Why are the programs in zip files ?
I would have imagines they were so tiny that they wouldn't need that ?
Cheers

I never used to zip them but that caused problems for some downloaders.

Who knows, maybe your unzipper is causing a problem.

Soon find out, this zip file contains versions 1.75, 1.80 and 1.82 :-

Try each one and rename to DISKBOOT.BIN.

I look forward to seeing the result.

Now, I have definitely gone  .....

With 1.75 on the card the camera just displays as Canon intended with "Card Locked" showing, no upgrade or crash.
With 1.80 on the card the camera just displays as Canon intended with "Card Locked" showing, no upgrade or crash.
With 1.82 on the card the camera  just displays as Canon intended with "Card Locked" showing, no upgrade or crash.
