Firmware Downgrade? Canon SD980

After through research I found my perfect camera, the SD980, with fantastic image quality and super small size it's great.

The problem is that I have firmware 1-7.0.1.0 which doesn't support CHDK.

After doing some reading I figured out that if I get a copy of the 1.00C firmware and find or plead some one to make a firmware update program that will let you downgrade I'd be set (the update program I've read only prevents firmware downgrades by doing a check, nothing more).

If anyone can help get CHDK on my camera, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Search function does wonders tbh.

ATM there is NO way to downgrade the FW for this camera.

Hello & welcome, Legion5 !

The problem is that I have firmware 1-7.0.1.0 which doesn't support CHDK.
1-7.0.1.0 isn't your real firmware version number.
Read a bit in this wikia article: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._How_can_I_get_the_original_firmware_version_number_of_my_camera.3F, you can also use CameraVersion or ACID to get your fw version from an image taken by your camera.

Downgrading a camera's firmware is not possible with the help of CHDK; a firmware dump (= extracted parts of the Canon firmware) can not be used to do a downgrade / to change the camera's firmware permanently.
