So, as CHDK already has the calendar, we just need to extend the current functionality. ;)

Hi Barney, can you upload samples of your files? The default output of Kalendis and the one you twiked for the camera. Let me see what I can do.

But are you sure that Kalendis program really works? At first sight it seems odd that the Rise time is the same for an entire week.

Quote
Date  Rise MiDay  Lite Set   Dark   Moon
1 Tu  7:50 12:16  8:51 4:41  3:09  -72.3
2 We  7:50 12:16  8:51 4:42  3:09  -61.5
3 Th  7:50 12:17  8:52 4:43  3:08  -50.6
4 Fr  7:50 12:17  8:53 4:44  3:07  -39.7
5 Sa  7:50 12:18  8:55 4:45  3:05  -28.7
6 Su  7:50 12:18  8:56 4:46  3:04  -17.5
7 Mo  7:50 12:18  8:57 4:47  3:03   -6.1
8 Tu  7:50 12:19  8:58 4:48  3:02    5.4

May be near the equator but I thought you was in some hyperborean region.

P.S. Be careful on your treks. As you said you have no contact with other humans you don't want to break you ankle in the middle of nowhere. ;-)

http://www.srrb.noaa.gov/highlights/sunrise/program.txt
NOAA Improved Sunrise/Sunset Calculation

between the stuff on those two pages it should be trivial to get the calculations into the CHDK as a menu item. The calculations are from the NOAA, so they are surely quite accurate

Both links look helpful.

It is a good idea CHDK can calculate the data instead of reading a file, because with the file you can only have the information for your home. But if CHDK gets the numbers itself, then when you travel you'll always can get the numers according to your location.

So far, I modify the CHDK calendar so you can select the day you want with the arrow buttons. Originally, you change the month and the year with them, but now if you first half press the shoot button you can move among the days.

Next step was to read the file generated by Kalendis, but mrblack51 has a point here. What do you guys think?

I have to confess, this feature is not on the top of my priorities list.

it would be a nice feature for photographers, so it should have a higher priority than games :D because when you know when you have to get up in the morning, there is no time playing games anymore, because you are always punctual and on time taking the shots you want to, no waiting for perfect light anymore :D
