hi,
i have Canon A570IS.
i'm not a professional photographer but this function is annoying!
the "Display Off" function is shutting down the display after few minutes for "Power Saving", the maximum time is 3 min.
i've seen the CDHK for canon cameras and i think it may help.
so, how can i disable this future on my camera? i mean the display will work allways

The answer is here: CHDK wikia - User manual: Disable LCD.

You saved my sanity lol. I was going crazy over that same situation but for me it was about the manual focus feature that was reverting back to auto focus as soon as the LCD would go off even though I had set the LCD off function in the Canon's menu to 3 minutes, As soon as the LCD would go off, I then had to put the camera back in manual focus mode. With this feature now set to "always" I can now be as long as I want without touching the shutter and the camera will now stay in manual focus mode.

This is especially nice when I am using my usb remote. :)
