s90 shutter lag: my harebrained idea and chdk question

love the s90, except the shutter lag is just bad, compared to my 3 yr old sd750. as a compromise, i played around with the low light mode and found the shutter lag to be significantly eliminated. in all other modes, if i 'drag raced' the 2 cameras, the s90 gets left behind noticeably. but in low light mode, the s90 beats the sd750 in taking a picture.

with that great benefit, the catch is manual settings are gone. if i could pick one to have, i want control of the iso. i can live with the smaller pic size. will chdk allow me to do that, have manual settings in low light mode?

THANKS!

You should be able to override ISO and other settings in low light mode. You will have to use CHDK overrides, not the manual settings from the normal firmware. Other people have done this to take advantage of the fast shooting (although my understanding this is for overall processing/saving time, not "shutter lag" which would be the delay between pressing the shutter and the shot being taken)
Don't forget what the H stands for.
