Hi All
I am looking to buy a camera to turn my point-and-shoot into an actual hobby. i came across chdk ages ago and bookmarked it . i am a student so money is a bit tight so when i saw what chdk can do i thought i can get good features on a budget!
my main issue is working out which camera is best to buy (as i don't really understand the benefits of f stops and iso ratings shutters speeds yet). the features i am after are resolution and the necessary features to do more interesting photographs (such as lightning etc)... basically i dont want to be limited by the cameras features if i can avoid it though i can live without zoom... and i don't see the point of going dslr when i'm starting out.
the a720 looks pretty good its fstop and iso are the same as the way more expensive g7 (thought the g7 supports iso3200 in lower res?)
what are the real pro's and con's (comparing) of the a720is and g7 once chdk is on them... so i can weight them up and either get the 720 or wait a little longer till i can afford a g7?
also it would be great to add a feature/price comparison of the cameras somewhere on the wiki so other people like me can just look at a nice feature list and compare them to each other and other cameras on the market.
thanks!
