I read here that I should find a "create card with two partitions" on the debug menu, but I don't find it.

I have a Canon A650, using a 16GB SDHC card. I can use the CHDK, but I want to auto-boot it and not hunt for the firmware update thing everytime I want to make a photo.

This is only available on cameras with CAM_MULTIPART enabled, and a650 doesn't have it.

It does appear to have the partition detection/swap code, so if you make a multipartition card by other means may work.
