load / save settings from/to file. thats a feature i'd like to see.
example: one chdk setting for "proffesional shooting", with RAW enabled, grid file loaded, etc.
one for "point and shoot". one setting file for night, one for day, etc. one setting maybe even for when you give your cam to elderly people or kids , that locks all keys and just randomly takes pictures ;)
this was about the chdk config file in the chdk folder.

another feature: load CANON settings from file (okay, it can be done via script, i know :D). for examle disable af & flash and so on. hm, so much to think of :D (this reuqest is not as important to me as the first one)

Remote Capture (PTP) via USB on cameras without.

This option is unfair, only the few people with cam models without this feature will vote for this (like me and my PowerShot A550).

I hope this will take in count :P

Do you devs know the internal handling of pictures to be shown with the internal viewer?
Problem:you cant view/show (eg on tv)pics that u put on the sd yourself,even if they are shot with the same camera/model.you can upload them to the cam via canon zoombrowser,but that takes,plus they are renamed this way.
So i need a feature that tricks the cam into viewing jpegs that are not on the sdcards "internal index".would be great for slideshows n such.

hehe barney, you get old, i already wrote that i COULD use the zoombrowser, but thats not really like just shoving in the sdcard, copying some files onto it and off it goes. this wont work if i have the cam at a friends house and i want some pics of his for a slideshow, and he doesnt possess zoombrowser.
about the load/save settings: didnt take a closer look, sorry.

i'd like to have some optipons to turn off alt mode  in playback mode (many times i activated accidentally raw mode after making shots with md)and some options to hide battery and time
and some lcd controls would be nice too(A630) :D or it's not possible by hardware?

...that it should be relatively simple to do by profiting from the fact that we can put at least 2 versions on a card  - a boot.bin and a ps.fir ;  we 'just' need to make sure that the Swapper ( (c)GPL  :lol)  could basically maintain a CFG and a LANG (well ... maybe the whole CHDK dir ;)) for each version ; we could have as many xxx.fir's as we like, Swapper let's you chooose one, renames it to PS.FIR. It also renames associated files, of course ....Swapper then quits, you press <Alt> and "soft boot the good ol' Canon way " into your chosen version .... which of course contains the swapper too, etc.
Number of CHDK's per session should only be limited by the cardspace your willing to offer to it; maybe a little indicator ?

We can also select the build you want in the file browser and have a function that can copy/rename the .fir file. I guess as CHDK is already loaded there is no problem with it. Then you only have to turn off and on the camera.
