Elpida-Chip is a 256Mbit SDRAM, probably this one: http://www.elpida.com/eolpdfs/E0618E70_EOL.pdf
The chip next to it probably flash? I wonder where the gyros are, ixus 800 is an IS camera, or?

dont they all have gyros, because of orientation?

Hmmm ... no fireworks mode here (a570is), but... found some interesting functions, tried them out:

NHSTUB(PutInNdFilter, 0xFFE06164)
NHSTUB(PutOutNdFilter, 0xFFE061AC)

and added a new menu entry to test them... it works, but it only seems to close the aperture down to f/11, at least the Av value showing up indicated that  :(

Well use would be very limited anyway, it seldom that you need even less light :)

Edit: Maybe the sound is a bit different because the aperture normally does not go that low (without hack)?

Well i played a bit around, seems some automatic tends to take the "NDfilter" back again, not always but often, also the camera hangs from time to time, after calling this function. So its not so easy to test it taking a macro shot  :(

But the feature of internal filter would be quite cool, although i would prefer a whole battery of filter rather than just one :)
Set of IR and UV filters , several strength of ND filters, would be cool :)

A ND4 filter for free and always with you - with every Canon Powershot?  :o

Anyone tried whether other A-series cameras also have the ND filter ?
