Script not showing up

I just installed CHDK onto my SD card and put it onto my Canon Powershot A480.The splash screen comes up and everything works fine except, whenever i try to load the script from file on the camera, no files appear. I have tried everything, but the script just doesn't appear.
Please help!

On a multi partition setup place the script files on the 2nd (data / big one) partition;
if this doesn't help: on some newer cameras the possible length of the folder name is limited, try to load the script files from a folder with a "short" name, e.g. \CHDK\SCR

I swapped partitions on the camera itself and then loaded my intervalometer script onto the FAT32.
However, now I can't boot the CHDK from the FAT16 anymore because I can't swap back to the FAT16.
How can I swap the partitions back so that the script stays on the FAT32, but CHDK boots from the FAT16.

You can start CHDK manually from the FAT32 partition (power on in playback mode with the [>] button, then call "Firmware Update" from the Canon menu) to swap the partition again.

Your advice worked perfectly and I got my script to work without any problems. I have another question which is unrelated to the one above, but if you wouldn't mind helping me again, I would greatly appreciate it!

The script which you helped me to load was an ultra intervalometer, because I am launching my A480 with a weather balloon for high altitude photography. I want to save battery power as much as possible because of the long flight duration, such as by keeping the LCD off. I am still new to all of this though, and I am having trouble figuring out how to add the command into my script. If you don't mind, could you please tell me how to code a command to keep the LCD off and any other systems in the camera that I have overlooked?

daedalus,

there are several ways to save battery lifetime, some are camera dependent...

- AV out: the camera disables the LCD when AV out is connected
- the set_backlight scripting command: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_firmware_usage/MoreBest#set_backlight.28.29
- turning off the LCD & the sensor with the DISP button (on cameras without optical viefinder) or the
  Canon sleep feature (registered to the shortcut button): http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,5306.msg51443.html#msg51443
  (don't know whether this is possible on the A480)
- switching to playback mode: the sensor is disabled/off in playback mode
