Okay. I placed the show_bad.exe file right on the SD card (root directory) and placed a copy of the RAW black file in the root directory as well. I opened a command prompt window and ran

show_bad IMG_xxxx.CR2 128 > badpixel

and got a badpixel file, but the content of that file says "file is unknown". My RAW file is 10,682,368 bytes on disk.

Are you sure you are using a CHDK raw ?

The g9 CHDK raw should be (4104x3048x10)/8 = 15,636,240
Don't forget what the H stands for.

*smack* CHDK RAW! I was using non-CHDK RAW.

I must be doing something wrong. I'm running in chdk mode. I did Alt->Frame button to Enable RAW, but I keep getting CR2 files that are the size of non-chdk Canon "standard" RAW files. I'm not seeing any RAW files with the CRW extension (which is what is selected in the chdk RAW menu).

My mistake. Everything's working now.
