Stop my_kbd_read_keys() calling kbd_process(), all sorts of exciting things happen there.

Hmmm .... address on the wiki page must be wrong.

I assume the green LED blink you reported seeing does not happen during a normal camera starup ?

Okay then - lets try this.  I moved the LED code into the keyboard task - lets see if it still lights up.

Ok - the cam boots with flickering the green led only until the chdk logo appears.

The autofokus-led is on from start => Crash continious on.

Thems to be good

In normal boot (no chdk) the green light flashes too but the motors opens the optics. In both cases the light flashes five times.

I see no light in front side.

Using this as an example, comment-out lines 170 to 190 :-

See if the folders were created.

Also comment-out 136, conf_restore().

On my cam the green light blinks until chdk seems to start up. Then the light is out.
The red autofocus-LED is permanently on.

In my original SD940 port,  I had code in the spytask that blinked the green LED every so often.  Its quite possible  spytask is still running after the "crash"  would be interesting to know.  I think that's kind of what you are looking for ?

As the A495 has only one LED (the green one) and its used by lots of things,  its not going to be much help for debugging.   Too bad astrosalva's AF led does not work - and strange that HankeyPoo's does.
