Did you run badpixel.lua?
Did you try to open a DNG file?

on a495 with beta2 i get frequent crashes when recording video. like 1 sec of video and then an error and automatic camera shutdown. anyone experiencing the same? jose

Hallo

For me the the most of beta2 is OK.

- RAW( .DNG)-Files are OK
- Tv Bracketing( +-Ev) is OK
- MD is working
- Focus stacking is working
- Video is not OK

Thanks for your reply. I followed up shortly after you wrote with a note, but when I check now I see it didn't post.

I've tried badpixel.lua, but I don't know why I'd want to do that. As far as I know the camera has no bad pixels.

The script status window said it was running and warned me it might take a while. I see no results.

RAW files: I can't save a RAW image as a .dng . The option does not exist in the RAW: Save As menu options. Just CR2, CRW THN -- whatever that is, and WAV. Tho' why I'd want to save as .WAV I don't know.

I'll see if there's an updated version of CHDK, and reinstall what I've got if there isn't.

Thanks for your help, I'll keep checking back.

All digital camera sensors have lots of bad pixels, they're masked out while manufacturing ;)
You must run the badpixel.lua script at least once to create & save the badpixel.bin file which is needed for DNG creation.

"DNG format" is an own menu item in the CHDK RAW menu; you can enable this option when you once run successfully the badpixel.lua script...

Hello again.

I'm back, but news is not good.

I'm using the first Beta of the a495 (100f) port. I've reinstalled it, just to be sure. It runs happily, mostly.

But when I try running badpixel.lua it starts, says it will take a few seconds, but never ends. No badpixel.bin is produced. I allowed it to use 20% (about 5 min) of the battery, just to be sure, before I gave up.

And I can't download the second, later version of CHDK, from http://www.fileserve.com/file/wSEfekG . After the reCaptcha challenge, I'm directed to a 404 page.

Life is not good, camera technology hates me.

Before anyone spends more time helping, is there a better link for the Beta? (Yes, I tried more than one browser, and turned off javascript and ad-blocking. I gave up.) I'd like, at least, to be giving my camera the best chance to work properly!

CHDK will not enabled canon SDK features. CHDK PTP interface should be possible on most cameras now.
