I've already prepared a dump of the 100e version using the script method since the button combo doesn't seem to work with this one.

I've really tried everything now.

I formatted the card using Cardtricks, I've made it bootable using Cardtricks, I've installed the CHDK zip file using Cardtricks.

Still I cannot:
1. View firmware version via button onboard the camera (set + display or set + down while being in playback).
2. The firmware update option is nowhere to be found in any of the menu's.

Could someone please help me with these problems?  Is there another trick I don't know about?

I really need to run CHDK on this camera, that's why I bought it.

I found out yesterday that it wasn't locked.
Now CHDK boots on startup.

Strange thing is, I still can't get firmware version or firmware update via keys or menu.  It just doesn't work.

So, for newbie's:
1. Download Cameraversion1.3 for verifying the firmware version.
2. Download Cardtricks to format your SD-card (2Gb=FAT32, 4Gb=FAT16), make the SD-card bootable and use Cardtricks for unzipping the CHDK-zipfile onto the SD-card.
3. Lock SD-card before putting it into your camera

Hi all,

I have just joined the CHDK adventure, so, please, be nice if I make mistakes ;)
I have bought 2 a495 to do 3D photos.
I have dumped my firmware, they are identical except the last bytes but I suppose it's due to the generic dumper.
According to CameraVersion13.exe, the firmware vesrion is 100F for both of them.
I have found the  DRYOS  version 2.3, release #0043 in my dump (I'm now working only on one version, I suppose they are the same, Am I wrong ?)
Cool, it seems I have same version as yours, at first, thanks to all for all your great work.
I will test CHDK and try to help you if I can.

I've done some more testing and came to the conclusion that I can't execute any shooting scripts (e.g. intervalscripts, badpixel script, etc.).
Every time the scripts hangs after the focussing and keeps showing the green focussquares.  But the camera doesn't take one single shot.

Because of this script problem I can't even run the badpixel script which is needed for saving .DNG files.

I really hope someone can help me with this!  :'(

The only script that is working is rapidV2.  This is kind of an interval script, it focusses and takes a picture.  On and on and on...

I found out some more about why scripts are not running.

Many UBASIC scripts use the command shoot.  But this command is apparently not recognized by the camera, therefor the camera hangs after focussing.
I found out - by comming across a good script - that the A495 uses the commands "shoot_full" and "shoot_half".

I've got one interval script working now.

BTW, someone in this forum was talking about a495-100f-1.1.0-full_ALPHA_rev_558.zip.
Has anyone got a download link for this version?
