I have an powershot S80 with CHDK. I use it to save raw files. My new battery although empties in approx 20 pics taken.
I understood that this camera normally makes raw pics and that the CHDK only provides in the possibility to save them. Does the use of RAW saving by CHDK increase the power consumption of the camera? Or is it just a bad quality battery and should i buy a new one?

Yes, since writing data to flash memory takes substantial energy, and RAW's are big.

But 20 pics are too few in any case, so your battery is far from perfect. Also, it never hurts to clean the contacts.
