Hi... just to get updated. Im a newbie to photography and I've just bought an A3000IS. Is someone currently working on this camera? I'm very excited about having a port to my camera, as i'm a big fan of light painting and A3000 can only go to 15secs of exposure (kind of tight for a complex work). As i'm not a developer, if there is anything i can help with, (like testing some beta), i'd be very happy to do so.

After a long (busy) time i found some time to see whats going on on the CHDK Scene, and i was very happy to see that now also the "2010" Cameras are "hacked". Today one electronic store has the A3000IS for less then 60 Euros, and i was not able to resist to buy this camera. ;)

So i started this afternoon the porting for A3000IS. Until now, i set up the development toolchain, started reverse engeniering the firmware and got the boot&reset code ported. But this is only the "easy" part of the chdk porting process, now the real work begins... ;)

Some progress, today i got the SpyTask starting and CHDK splashscreen shows up.
As usual, i have trouble finding the correct display aspectratio/width/size settings, but this is only a matter of time... ;)

Now the display looks better. Also the KbdTask is ported now, so keys are working.

More sucess porting CHDK for 1.00d A3000IS.
Now:
- Videmode overrides ( optical zoom, AF-rescan ) are working
- Extra Photo operations (ISO, Shuttertime, etc.) are working
- Edge overlay, Histrogram is working (but we false colors, palette seems to be changed again in 2010 cameras...)
- USB remote trigger works
- JPEG super fine works
- Scripting seems to work
- >4GB SD Card support (two partition support) is working

RAW shooting makes trouble, the RAW pictures looks strange. Needs further investigation.
Also expores longer then 15 seconds are not working, seems that the original firmware ignores longer exposer times. So there is still work to do, but i have now basic chdk running on my little cheap cam. ;)

Does fast shutter speed overrides work ?
If not, the "extended Tv fix" (http://tools.assembla.com/chdk/changeset/875) may be of interest...

Yes, the extended tv fix was necessary for the A3000IS. I was now able to make a test exposure with 60s exposure time. :)

Because its christmas: For those who wants to play arround with CHDK on the A3000IS, here is my currently development drop of the 1.00d port. Have fun. ;)
