This port is for A3000IS with original firmware 1.00d.
Do you have 1.00d on your camera installed? (check using the ver.req / vers.req method).

Okay, if i look on the download count of the chdk test build and the fact that there are almost no errors reported, i assume this version is working perfectly, i am right?  8)

I've a A3000IS but it's with my relatives.

I'll try it when got chance

I own a A75 and felt A3000IS miss a lot of the full manual function which I really like.
eg. manual focus, flash control, aperture control.

Another feature I would like to have is the capturing RAW image.

Not sure this version have all the feature I wanted and how easy is the menu can be access.

Thanks a lot for this piggy back firmware

Greets!

First, I HAVE to thank you for this port, ERR99. I'm so glad you made it. Now I can make good use of my A3000.

But... I think I got a problem. See, my A3000 has the 1.00C firm installed. So what should I do to get CHDK working on my camera? I'm sorry for asking this 'basic' question, but I'm really noob at this :P is there an article explaining what can I do?

Thanks.

A lot of this stuff should allready working with the above posted CHDK test build.
But dont forget the this simple cameras does not have a "real" aperture to control, they use a neutral density filter to simulate different apertures. I did not test the flash control stuff. The manual focus is currently not implemented, but i will take a look at this i find the time. ;)

The above posted CHDK build was made based on the 1.00D firmware. It now depends how great the difference is between 1.00D and 1.00C firmware version. I suggest you simply try to start the PS.FI2 version via firmware update methode (dont worry, this methode does not change the firmware on your camera, it simply loads the CHDK build into RAM and starts it). If the camera crashes/switches off, we need a adapted CHDK build for 1.00C firmware. If the camera (re)starts succesfull and you see the CHDK splash screen, there is a good change that nothing CHDK related has changed between this FW-Versions.

Hello & welcome, mugger !

The mainproblem is: i dont know hot to get to the "update firmware" entry.
Copy the file PS.FI2 to the root of your SD card, power on the camera with the PLAYBACK [>] button (lens retracted), then enter the Canon setup menu, scroll down...

Notes:
- make sure there's a still image (JPG) in preview, not a video file
- on a Mac you'll have to remove the quarantine flage of the ps.fi2 file

Hi, I placed the files (cleaned from Mac quarantine flag) on a FAT16 formatted SD partition, camera seems to see the update but goes black when executing FW update. Unfortunately I can see my A3000 is only ver 1.00b. Is there anyway that I can possibly update it to 1.00d?
Thank you.
