Hi guys.

I want to make a pretty long (1 month) time lapse shooting sequence with an SX20 by using a 9V power supply, but i worry about my camera health. Is it possible that this long continous shooting cause any harm to my camera?
If anybody has any experience about it, please share.

Thanks.

Something can always happen no matter what.Sometimes you just got a take a risk. but if you don't want ruin your SX20 which is a nice camera, maybe you should get something cheaper like power shot A540 i got one for 20 bucks on a flee market. there is some on ebay too. So if it breaks im out of 20$
is the camera gonna be outdoor or indoor that would make a difference.

I already did long stop motion videos with my A540, powered with 3V AC adapter. The A540 use only 2 AA batteries.

The SX20 use 4 AA batteries but could (note: could !!!) be originally arranged in parallel (2 pairs of AA) and needs only 3V supply. I have to check it with CHDK displaying the power voltage.

If you check it, I would be please to know :)

If you put 9V on his a s s e t, you will toast it  :'(

I am very interested in this type of setup

What type of script are do you use?

Does the camera take pictures for the 24hr period or is it only scheduled for the day time hours?

Turn off the display. These cameras are indestructible! I've put probably a hundred thousand clicks or more on my shutter. Although, there are some spots on the lens (probably dirt)
