just in case it can (remotely :) help, the screen didn't erase well on my IXUS 50 (SD400) either (CHDK superimposed graphics)
It just happens randomly and I have to push alt twice to properly erase it when it happened

Here's something I just discovered...

There is a function in the S95 called Window_EmergencyRefreshPhysicalScreen.  If I erase the screen with draw_filled_rect and then call Window_EmergencyRefreshPhysicalScreen in vid_bitmap_refresh(), all screen drawing appears to work properly.  I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, but for now I'm going to declare victory on the screen drawing issue and move on.

The S95 port is stable enough to let others try it out.  I have done little formal testing but large portions of it work.
Please review the porting status here for what is known to work and known not to work:

Here is a link to the binaries:

in my camera it hangs when running a script (testing with intervalometer)
btoh, I can't make the camera to write to the big partition, so it may be related...

Great Great Great I just came accross the chdk site and program
I love this hacking stuff!!

I have the Pana LX 5 and the S95.
The pana has zoom and AF in Video.

Could you Please, Please ,port the S95 and give it Continuous AF?

I think panasonic filters out the noise. I notice that in Video mode the motor steps with fixed low frequency. Both the zoom and AF servo do this.

Anyway the S95 AF motor is quiet enough to try continuous AF.

Any chance you can do this?
I want to sell the LX5 as low light picture quality of the S95 is better and I love the size.
Great little camera this is.

Thanks
Johan

My port does not yet implement the CHDK partioning hack.  I'll add that to the list.

You mean we should test this beta on <=4GB cards only?

You should be able to load manually with "firm update" on any size card, assuming an FI2 file is included in the build
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I know, I tried that first but, or I'm missing something, or the S95 does not have a "firm update" option within it's menus... I can't find it!
