I suggest reading the CHDK users manual http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_User_Manual

It explains how overrides work. CHDK doesn't add to the built in canon menus, all CHDK features are controlled through the CHDK menus and some shortcut keys.

Keep in mind that the SX120 port is not complete, so not everything documented in the manual should be expected to work.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

That solved all my concerns/questions.  Thank you!

I understand RAW files are the uncompressed picture, but what benefit would I get with shooting in raw?  I don't edit my pictures or anything, so I'm guessing I'll see no benefit out of raw?
