Hi,

Unfortunately that is extremely unlikely (as in: we've never seen that happen)

The 'procedure' for adding a new cam is here: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Adding_support_for_a_new_camera

sorry for the bad news,

wim

Gents,

It's early days yet, but we have a memory dump that can be read by IDA!

Based on the instructions found in the SX210 thread ( http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,5045.0.html )

Posts #80, #90 and #95 - I have dumped my camera's GM1.01C (Canon refers to it as 1.0.1.0 - Thanks reyalp)

The dump can be found here:

This is not the correct firmware version. The actual version is GM1.01C
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Hi,

I'm new to all this, but I have been trying to get firmware for a few days now by playing around with all the easily available hacks, to no avail. Glad to see someone else has been more successful :) I'm unlikely to be much use with the programming side of things but I have a camera available to test on, so if you need anything tested let me know. Many thanks for your work so far micronanopico

Hi Ali,

I haven't practiced my assembly or C skills for over a decade, so I'm not far behind you!
I have to say that the work carried out by other members made and will make our lives a lot easier.
See how long it took the SX210 members to get a dump and based on their attempts we've climbed over the first hurdle much quicker.

I will wait for a version to be available for either the SX210, SD4000 or A3100 and just modify the source code accordingly since they are the same generation cameras with more or less similar features.

Yeah I did work out how long the SX210 took, 6 months to an initial implementation :( But as you say we're a lot further forward given their previous work. My brother is a far more skilled programmer and is looking into taking this side of it forward, so hopefully he'll be able to help you in some way shortly. I take it you have a SX130 too? mine has already survived a total submersion in freshwater :D but i'm pretty disappointed with the jpeg image quality, the same file size as my previous a710 despite the pixel count almost doubling.

This does not make much difference. A port is a port, you have to do almost all the same work no matter what.

Also, your camera is  "DRYOS version 2.3, release #0045" while the others you mention are release #0043. The only other r45 camera we know of is the s95.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
