You can get the current version from this post -> http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=5691.msg63847#msg63847.  You'll probably want to read this -> http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_For_Newbies_-_How_To_Install

@Everyone - Does anybody still have the firmare file from canon that got us to 101c (or know the file name or date for it)?  I updated my firmware and deleted the file, so I don't remember the filename.  I don't need the file, just the name and date.

@aldous - I'll try soon.

Outslider - see that's the problem.. I went there today (to canon's website), and saw the "firm-e" in the filename.  It made me think that this might be a different firmware version, (101c would be firm-c in my mind) .  I DON'T want to update my firmware right now, because then CHDK probably won't work again, and I can't figure out if it's newer than 101c.

IF YOU TRY THIS AND IT IS ACTUALLY A NEW CANON FIRMWARE UPDATE, CHDK WILL NOT WORK!  (so don't just try it to find out).

this is copied and pasted from this page http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/other_powershot/powershot_sx130_is#DriversAndSoftware

File Name

pssx130is-1010-e.exe

File Version

1.0.1.0

File Size

2.38 MB

Post Date

10/08/2010

Download and Installation Instructions

Firmware Update (Version 1.0.1.0) fixes a phenomenon in which the audio and
video get recorded out of sync when shooting movies with the image quality
set to high definition (1280x720 pixels).

This phenomenon occurs gradually from the start of recording and becomes
more noticeable as the recording time gets longer.

*  The longest HD movies this model can record at one time are approximately
    10 minutes in length. This phenomenon occurs only when the image quality is set
    to HD; it does not occur in other settings (640x480 pixels or 320x240 pixels).

most SX130s bought came with This Firmware update so i guess this was meant for people who bought the camera before issue was found

@aldous use this script for now its written by outslider
@title MultiMovie
@param x one part time in sec
@default x 590

f=0

print "record will start..."

press "shoot_half"
sleep 1500
:new
f=f+1
press "shoot_full"
release "shoot_full"
if f=1 then release "shoot_half"

print "file number: ";f

s=get_time 0
m=get_time 1
h=get_time 2
d=get_time 3
b=s+m*60+h*3600+d*3600*24

:loop
s=get_time 0
m=get_time 1
h=get_time 2
d=get_time 3
t=s+m*60+h*3600+d*3600*24
u=t-b
print "file number: ";f
print "time left:";x-u
if u>x then goto "reload"
sleep 900
goto "loop"

:reload
print "reloading..."
press "shoot_full"
release "shoot_full"
print "waiting for ready..."
:waitloop
q=get_movie_status
if q=1 then goto "new"
print "status:",q
sleep 100
goto "waitloop"

it basiclly records for however long its set for (i tested it can be set above 10 min for HD video but camera will stop recording at it) saves the file and automatically starts recording again set the default to 3600 if you use non hd-video as cannon decided to (stupidly unless they come out and said why) cap non-hd video at an hour copy it put it in notepad save it and change the .txt to .bas and put it in the scripts folder in CHDK

Outslider - see that's the problem.. I went there today (to canon's website), and saw the "firm-e" in the filename.

The .FI2 file inside the updater is dated Sep 2010 so I doubt it's a new version.

I believe the '-e' in the filename denotes the 'English' version of the update.

Thanks. That sounds like the same one we already have.. I'm just trying to make sure if there are any new firmware versions they get some attention by the developer (who I'm sure is incredibly busy anyway!)  :haha

Thanks Philmoz

I shot some video and it was all fine.  I have always had a problem with HD video with and without CHDK but the data isn't corrupt, just jerky. The "too much data" exclaimation icon shows up from time to time when I record HD.  Standard video has no problems.  Maybe I need a class 6 SD card.

But you have to keep in mind that this is one person testing.  While I did run all kinds of tests and recorded video in as many combinations as I could think of, I may not have covered the exact combination that would show a problem. I would just say try it with something unimportant and see. If it does fail, it won't corrupt any video you have already taken.
