That's nice idea, I'll try it this night (if there will be no clouds). Thanks!

Hi there. I found a bug. When I set focus to infinity, the DOF calculator doesn't work properly. It doesn't show NL - near limit. Is there a possibility to fix it? (it also doesn't show DOF but I understand that it is not possible to show the right number)

Hey, i'm using my camera for light painting.
I need the flash to flash when it's done with the exposure. (or the focus red light or something, or a beep)
I just need the camera to let me know when it's done with the exposure. I'm bad at timeing them.
Could activate
flash
red light
beep or some other sound

The built in flash only flashes at the begining of the exposure. And the shutter sound only plays at the beginning.
Any script (or trick) for this?

Hey, i'm using my camera for light painting.

Walk me through exactly how you like to do light painting (step by step camera settting, time delays etc) and I'll come up with a script.

Ok, i set it to either manual or exposure priority.
Use the  extra photo operations and set it to
disable overides = disable
include autoiso = true
overide shutter speed = 64 (sometimes i do longer times though, anywhere from 10seconds to 10 minutes
value factor = 1
(rest of the page i left alone)

in the regular camera settings (non CHDK)
exposure time = 15
Fstop = 3.something
ISO = 1600 (sometimes I change this to not have the lights as bright or if I want to do shorter paintings in the daytime)

And I use a remote every now and then when I need it.
Sorry for so many variables. I don't have it down to an exact science and settings yet.

I'm really looking to understand the physical process.  Do you basically open the shutter and then walk around firing your flash unit off at different objects ?   If so,  what is the "end of exposure" signal for ?  To tell you to stop walking around ?

oh, right... :P I draw in the air with flashlights or throw burning steel wool everywhere. The end of exposure signal is to tell me to stop working.
