In Alt mode I entered to the "Extra Photo Operations" & edited:
Disable Overrides: OFF
Override shutter speed: 3200
value factor: 1
shutter speed enum type: Ev step

but pictures still at 1/2500

What happens if you set  Override shutter speed: 125  ?  Do you get a picture at 1/125 second ?

1/125 work fine ..is that mean I can't use higher shutter speed from what I can use with default firmware?

I'm not sure - somebody else will need to answer here.  However,  its possible that the shutter speed is going faster than 1/2500 but the camera just does not report it that high.  Are you seeing 1/2500 on the LCD display during review mode (where it displays all the information for the picture ) ? What about the EXIF information in the jpeg ?

Well, for SX130 I have done some photos with even 2000 seconds, but there is some limit above that value. I was unable to use 2h exposure, but I don't know the exact value of the limit.

I'm not sure about your ask - you tell about high shutter speed - I would call that very short time, but you are talking about 3200 seconds... 3200 means 3200 seconds, for high-speed (short time) you need to use something like 1/3200 or other value. Speeds like 1/20 000 consist no problems. I haven't try faster.

lol my bad ...I mean 1/3200 no 3200 seconds. I check the results via review mode and there is 1/2500 even when I use 1/3200 or 1/4000. Is the result is same for you guys?

outslider you mean you tried 2000 and 1/20 000 and it works w/o problem?

Yes, I don't know why, but on sx130 overriden values are not saved in exif. I asked about it some time ago but I didn't get answer... Nevertheless, for me much more important is real value of shutter speed than this saved to exif data. you can check, wheter overriden 1/3200 photo is more dark than 1/2500 to be sure that it works.

True - no problems with taking photos with this kind of settings, but exif showed 15s and 1/2500 respectively...

Exif values are not important to me. I'll check tomorrow with shorter shutter speed for difference in images.

What about aperture override? 3.49-16 is the limit for our cameras? I tried F16 and exif output is F11..

I used F16 many times, but now you made me wonder and I tried to compare F16, F~12 and F~7 and yes... 11 looks like the hardware limit. Images with 16 and 12 have exactly the same brightnes... That's sad!

Very sad, shutter speed don't work also with higher speed than 1/2500 ..

For those interested in camera aperture values, check out my previous post:

As far as shutter speed override is concerned, the exif values are sometimes not correct, but the actual shutter speed is what you selected from the override. I have done tests and have verified that the camera does speeds over 1/2500. I have not tried all of them, but it definitely shoots over 1/2500 (even though the camera might display 1/2500 or another value whilst shooting). Just try and do a reference shot at 1/2000 and a second shot at some much higher speed... you will see that the image will be much darker.

ISO override goes down to ISO 50.
Aperture override as in the post I linked (F8.97  F10.07  F11.31 zoomed out...  F8.97  F10.07  F11.31  F12.69  F14.25  F16 when zoomed all the way in)
I have done long exposures up to a few minutes, I cant remember when it crashed, I think at 30 mins.

EDIT:  A quick test shows that the following shutter speeds have given a progressively darker picture (the speeds really work):  1/2500 (base exposure):  1/5000 works 1/10000 works  1/20000 works 1/40000 works.  I tried 1/80000 and 1/100000, and they failed to be darker than the 1/40000 exposure, meaning they dont work.
