The current CHDK user guide describes bracketing just as I would expect +/- exposure backeting to work (see page 12).  While I can understand your logic, it is, I believe, atypical for describing exposure bracketing (versus TV or AV adjustment).

I agree it would make more sense to do exposure bracketing; but then it will be 'wrong' for everyone who is now used to it working the way it does. It might also have an impact on existing scripts.

Since this affects all cameras, I suggest you create a new topic in the 'General Discussions' section and see what other people think.

Regarding SuperFine working in continuous mode with CHDK bracketing off... no, it does not work, for all intents and purposes.  This means that while it may appear to be taking a series of images, after the buffer fills, the screen goes black (camera freezes) and when I press the power button it immediately restarts.  I say "after the buffer fills" because depending on whether I am shooting a detailed subject (where the files would be larger) the camera may shoot only three continuous images, whereas if I shoot a simple subject (smaller files) the camera may shoot seven or more continous images, ALTHOUGH NONE OF THE IMAGES WILL BE SAVED!  I can sometimes get two detailed images to be saved in continuous mode if I attempt to take two images only.

All my shooting is with Class 6 cards.  I will attempt to get a Class 10 card to see if SuperFine or movie quality issues resolve themselves.

The camera is actually crashing and shutting down, not freezing. It's probably a memory buffer problem because of the increased size of the superfine JPEG files. In this case there's not much CHDK can do about it.

Generally I don't find superfine to be of much use - the visible difference between fine and superfine is undetectable in most cases. You're better off using RAW for the best image quality; at the expense of slower write times and more post processing work.

Wow, wonderful! Thanks philmoz for adding it to the autobuild server.

I would like to ask if it is  possible to implant to CHDK a feature which is able to change position of the AF point. Well, I suppose there is a problem because else it would be implanted, but what is the problem? Is the amount of the pixels of live view too little for calculating it? What about the face detection points? They could not help it too?

Unfortunately, in 99% cases I  don't use the central point at all. I would love if it could be at least moved to a fixed position in the right side.

Erick :  Some things for you to read if you are going to use CHDK (google translate might help if necessary)

Answers to your questions :

1) CHDK will automatically load every time that you turn on the camera unless you delete the DISKBOOT.BIN file or you set the SD Card Lock switch to the "unlocked" position.

2) Enable RAW mode by going to <ALT> mode,  press the Menu button on your camera, scroll to the Raw Parameters menu and select Enable RAW.

Congratulations on getting RAW working.  Did you notice that if you use the DNG option in the RAW menu, you get the same image file but enough meta-information in the DNG file for almost every photo program to be able to work with the image ?
