Number one reason I rarely use Video on my cameras: it's cumbersome, they usually don't have a Movie Record button and I have to change the position of the mode dial before being able to start recording.

My new S95 has 19 functions that can be assigned to the shortcut button but Movie Record is not one of them.

Would it be doable to add Movie Record to the functions that can be assigned to the Shortcut button?

but - shortcut button = CHDK button = problem
a moviebutton would be great, though. maybe the ring func button?

+1. I'd like to be wearing a camera around my neck, then just hit a button (or two buttons at the same time) on my camera and have it start recording video. Can anyone tell me what the technical hurdles might be so I can help out?
