I've got a (mostly broken) ixus 1000hs with fw 1.02e and managed to get chdk ported to it.
It is based on the fw 1.02b.

My camera is unable to take pictures (no lens, broken mechanics) so i can't test it myself. If you have firmware 102e and you are willing to test it AND give feedback then let me know and i'll give a link to the package.

Hello & welcome !
Hello, I want to ask if someone can help me with finding firmware for photo camera Canon ixus 1000hs.?
...
So I decided to update the camera but no new firmware in official website.
Sory for the negative answer, but a firmware update is only possible with an original Canon firmware update file.
Canon did not publish such an update for the IXUS 1000 yet, so you can't update your camera by yourself.

Of course the Canon support team could flash a new firmware - maybe you'll report your problem & ask them for help...

Hey guys,

It seems that not much is being done for this camera lately which is unfortunate since I just discovered CHDK and was so happy to find that my camera is supported until I realized that my camera firmware has no port yet  :(

based on the exif data of my images the firmware for my camera is:
Firmware Revision               : 1.01 rev 1.00
which i think means 1.01A.

So is it easy to modify one of the existing builds to support this firmware?

* I tried the builds of the 3 firmwares i found on this site but the camera will simply freeze with a black screen after I select OK for the firmware update.

I would be good if you confirmed that with www.zenoshrdlu.com/acid/acid.html

Easy? No - sorry.   It will take someone with experience and skill to port to a new firmware version.  The good news is that several people here regularly volunteer to help with that.  The bad news is that they will only do so if there is a volunteer who actually owns the camera who is willing to put a lot of time into testing different versions of the code.

Is that you?

I've also 1.01A, confirmed with acid software, yes, it's difficult to modify firmware  :(

If either of you will dump the firmware for your camera, upload to a file sharing site (like box.com) and post the link here,  that would be a good start to getting a port for your version.

Details on how to make a dump are  here :  http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Canon_Basic/Scripts/Dumper

I started a blind port for this camera.  If you can test and report, I'll send you a binary version for test in few days.
EDIT: New port is based on G12 port. So, if someone can test in other firmware version, it would be useful.
