There's no ps.fir file in there.  Can't seem to install it without that.

Does this camera have any special trick to installing or getting it to boot?

I'm using Stick to create a card.  It's an 8Gb card but it just won't boot.  CHDK installs, stick runs through all 4 steps, but after write protecting the card and putting it into the camera, I never get the CHDK logo.  Just the "Card Write Protected" message.  Any ideas?

To rule out some of the possible mistakes, try again with a smaller card.

Just tried it out on a 128Mb SD card.  It seems to load CHDK without issue.  The lack of buttons makes using it kind of odd but not a problem of CHDKs.  RAW saving sort of works.  The saved image has a lot of red/blue pixel noise in it.  I'll see if I can pick up a 4Gb SD card so I can do more testing.  128M isn't much space :)

Edit:  RAW works fine.  Seemed to be an artifact of the viewer I was using.  Lightroom shows no such noise.

I'm not sure how the best way to test this particular feature is, so I went into the chdk menu and set ISO Override to on and selected different values.  I selected 100, 300, 600, and 2600 for arbitrary ISO values to see if the camera would take them.  It recorded as 100, 320, 640, and 1000.  Camera was set on P mode with the built in ISO set as auto.  The screen showed the setting I put in, but the iso recorded into the EXIF data was as stated above.

Any specific tests you want me to run on this?

Some difference in the exif is not unexpected, but the exif doesn't tell you if the exposure actually changed.

The best way to test that ISO overrides work is to set a fixed shutter speed (using CHDK shutter override if the camera doesn't let you set it manually) and then take shots of the same scene with different ISO levels and verify that the exposure of the image changes.

Note that CHDK ISO overrides generally do not go outside the Canon firmware limits. It may also not do the last stop, so for example if your cameras normal ISO setting allows 1600, the CHDK overrides would stop at 800.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I have taken images with the camera's ISO set to AUTO and used CHDK's ISO override function to take multiple images at isos 100, 500, and 1000.  The exposure on the taken images is as expected (lighter as ISO increases).  All other settings were the same:  F/3.4, Shutter 1/25, ISO AUTO.  Looks like it is working properly.

A little off topic but is there any particular reason why this test version of CHDK has a time limit on it?

Partly to "encourage" people to actually report their test results rather than take the code and run away.  That used to happen a lot.

And partly so that we don't later waste time here debugging issues without realizing the person is using a test version.  That has happened too.
